 I'm broken 

It breaks me every time I wake up and have nothing to offer you 

It breaks me that I still can't snap my fingers and give you all you need 

It breaks me to see you stressing about my future 

It breaks me to not know if I'll live long enough to make you proud , give you the life you deserve and a few grandchildren to make your days 

It breaks me , breaks me that I can't thank you enough for being my mother , for nurturing me , for who you've  made me 


Mama , my heart beats for you 

Tears fill my eyes as I write this 

maybe I've not said it enough times , can never be enough actually 

I love you , you are my life , you are my world 

You are my definition of strength 

I need no super heroes when I have you 

You are my light , my guide 

You are an angel given to me by the heavens 

You ,my mother , are the purest form of love and kindness 

A star brighter than all those in the night sky combined 

A sun , lighting up my whole world 

A jewel worth more than everything the world can offer 

You , mama , are my definition of love 



Mama , I'm sorry , from deep in my heart I'm sorry to you and the heavens 

For those times I was against you 

For those harsh words I may have said , maybe because my mind was too dumb to realize what I was doing 

For those sleepless nights I've made you have 

For those long days I caused 

For any form of pain I've ever put you through 

For my immature ways 

For any shame I've ever put you through 

For the times I wasn't the daughter you needed 

Mama , I'm sorry , to you and the heavens 

May any bad omens I've ever brought upon myself for walking against you be torn down 



Mama , my life , my love 

I thank you

I thank you for being my mother , the best I could ever have 

I thank God for you being a part of my life 

I thank God for keeping you safe till now 

I thank God for your health , may he keep you strong always 

I thank God for those times you almost gave up but didn't 

I thank God that this far you've raised me right 

Mama , I thank you for loving me enough to give all of you to me 

May happiness and love always find you 

May life be kind to you 

May God keep blessing you 

May God keep you strong and alive for me

Reminiscent Regrets

 Horror .  It is written all over . Tiny pieces of glass lying dangerously  around feet  blood gushing out of tiny hands  running down a now broken mirror  the impact of repeated ramming on the mirror  a white satin night dress stained red  one sleeve hanging by the shoulder  messy hair and a face spelling a familiar pain . A pain I've felt one too many times  disappointment , a broken promise , shattered dreams , a glowing heart dimmed in seconds like a light switched off . Your words repeatedly running in my mind and it feels like a million needles pricking my skin. The reflection staring back at me too much I turn off the lights  lights on , lights out doesn't make a difference . The feeling of dread and hate crowding every part of me . Was It Beautiful?

Was it beautiful?  The number of times I have given this an attempt probably indicates that it wasn't. It never has been. But it wasn't all ugly. I look in the mirror and appreciate the person I am, the result of all those ugly moments. It built me but it also broke me. It breaks me everyday.  I am a collection of every place I have been, every person I have loved, every emotion I have felt, every heart I have touched and maybe that counts as beautiful. A piece of art forged from broken pieces, some colorful and some not the shade I would have chosen. On some days these pieces shatter leaving an empty shell, on these days I am reminded that maybe I wasn't meant for this world, he who fathered me one said I was a mistake, a happy mistake he corrected. A paradox and maybe that's one of the reasons why nothing makes sense. Maybe that is why I have to constantly fight for a place in a world that wasn't meant for me.
